Our awning just blew up vertical. Yes really.
It’s kind of reset itself and I’ve wound it in. I think I need this part front and back.
I need it in a week or no awning on holiday in heatwave.
Where will be the quickest place to get these 2 pieces? And can anyone @WelshGas tell me the part number??

It’s sheared off the lower bolts but the top ones are still there.

Fixed after a lot of twiddling this way and that. In the end my roofer neighbour worked a bit of roofer magic and we managed to force it home. I think the awning case was probably bent a bit by the gust of wind.

My neighbour was wearing a Top Gun t shirt only ‘Gun’ was substituted for something else. Priceless!
Thanks again to @Ch1pbutty for help finding the parts.

Not too hard figuring out the hmm, modification. Seems like a top bloke to help a fellow neighbour in his moment of need.

Glad you sorted it; As an aside what type of ground securing did you have? I use 2 pegs in the legs and regular guy lines, but keep having moments of panic about a freak gust after seeing so many with industrial level things attached.

This happened to me with awning tied down with storm straps, full awning room up and pegged down m, and strap over awning front to back pegged down!!
Moral - in strong winds always fold awning away!!

Yes if I was being honest I’ve actually slightly laughed at people’s lashed down awnings. I have never even put a single peg down, no guy ropes. Nothing. For 15 years nothing has gone wrong.

If by the sea I probably wouldn’t put the awning out and I usually put it away at night.

It’s pretty funny - well apart from the £170 bill - that this happened in the New Forest with a bit of drizzle. Just one gust and up it went. Quite dramatic.

Having taken it apart to put it back on, it almost seems like it’s designed to fail in a way that doesn’t do any damage to the awning itself or the case. Just one bolt at each end popped through its aluminium holding and the connection pieces to the van bent. Hence these needed replacing costing £170. You can see here

Will I now start pegging it down? Nope. Just daft I guess although @ClivesT6california tale above slightly enforces my method.
