Window bags and comfort mattress

Does anyone else struggle with the folding the comfort mattress back into position for travelling while using the window bags? We the the California camping ones. It is a very tight squeeze to fold the mattress up with these in position. Any hints? Ps had them over two years now they are great just this small niggle! A

I find the same with VanEssa bags. But they do squeeze in with a bit of effort. I've tried having them right back nearer the tailgate which gives a little more room.

Unzip the end part of the mattress that goes over the MFB, (this bit of the mattress is stored upright between the tailgate and the rest of the mattress) this will reduce the hight of the mattress when stored. Make the bed, then pull the mattress toward the front of the bed before unfolding it.
