Windscreen Cover

Can anyone recommend a lightweight non thermal windscreen and side door window cover for our 6.1 Ocean. We are nervous about using the blinds, as they seem fiddly, and don’t want to damage them. We do have a thermal cover but it’s very bulky. Thanks in advance.

Hi. It’s from Comfortz Leisure and packs into a bag that’s about 52cm deep and 97cm round.

FWIW the blinds are not actually that tricky at all; just need to be methodical and you won't break them - I imagine people can break them by being impatient or trying to force something because it doesn't work the way they think it should, rather than pausing and rethinking. We hired a T6.1 Ocean and it was second nature by the 2nd night.

Now I had this idea of purchasing a tinted plastic insert for the side window (https://solarplexius.co.uk) and covering it in black film to block out the light. It could then be fitted for night time and removed & stored under the mattress during the day.
What do you think… good or bad idea?

I'm pretty certain the T6.1's magnetic blinds for the side windows are blackout?

They are. I used Project Campers magnetic covers which work a treat. Quite decorrative from the inside, quick to install and pack on top of 2 Really Useful storage boxes in rear along with a portable solar panel, thus maximising the storage space at the rear under the parcel shelf.

Oh I was referring to the sliding door window.

We have a thermal one and tbh now just leave in the garage. Takes space and we now prefer to travel light. The VW provided ones work just fine.

However, we have the Comfortz thermal screen set and find it to be one of our better buys.
Easy to fit, folds up in to a small package and totally eliminates any inside screen condensation.
If you have ever slept downstairs, then you will appreciate a condensation free screen.

The humid air inside the vehicle is still there so it just condenses on the next coldest areas within the vehicle, behind plastic trims on the back panels of the kitchen/wardrobe units and any exposed metalwork .
Only adequate ventilation removes the humid atmosphere, caused by the occupants breathing, from the vehicle interior.

Regarding the technicalities that may be so but that pesky Condensation is a greater pain on the inside of the glass than any other area as it causes smears when drips so the trick is to prevent it forming on those areas and the cover does just the job

Or adequate ventilation and then you don’t have any condensation anywhere.
Managed OK at Knordkapp in -7c just using the VW blinds that came with the van but with adequate ventilation not just the 2 roof vents.

I think it must be a newer version, ours certainly doesn’t fold into a small package. I will have a look at the latest version.
