I've just spoken to my local dealer regarding any recalls and there is one regarding anti-chafing protection. My vehicle was built in December 2016. Does anybody know what this recall is about as I only contacted them via online chat. By the way I also have the DSG gearbox.

Got mine in Mid January and not had any recalls.
Just in case I've emailed the dealer to check.
A 204DSG 4Motion

I'll report the result.

Booked in for next Tuesday

I booked my vehicle in this morning with Heritage Bristol. Are you using the same dealer Mike?

I contacted my dealer and they say that they are not aware of this. Mine is a 204 DSG. Does this chaffing affect all DSGs?

See Post 7 above.

Just checked with our dealer. Cali due its 1st interim service. Has had major product enchancement recently (discussed in services/recall thread).

Nothing on system related to our number plate apart with something to do with oil check because of leakages( 24.6.17 VW system alert).

Mine is a 204x4,DSG, MY17, built summer 2016 collected October 16

At the dealer for a software upgrade yesterday. I asked service department to check the details of the recall and she mentioned there was nothing else to do on mine. That's not to say it isn't coming ,9000 miles so far.

..message ends..

When mine gets done I should have more of a clue what is entailed. I'm guessing at some wire or the other getting damaged but time will tell.

I'll post an update.

#7 refers to Mikes 4Motion 204 DSG being booked-in for this remedial work, but if like me you're reading on your phone then that'd take a bit of extrapolation. I'd call the Service dept at my Dealer & ask.

I was at my own Dealer yesterday (before I read this) getting my wheels & springs swapped, they were in their computer looking at my vans record & didn't mention this to me, so I'm not clear whether I don't need it or they overlooked it - experience suggests it's always best to ask explicitly as it'll be me who's stuck on the wrong side of the Alps & not them if it breaks ...

FWIW mine is a late 2015 build 65-plate Beach DSG 150 & I've not worked out which characteristic, or combination thereof, triggers the recall:

- build date
- just DSGs or manuals too
- 4Motion vs FWD
- both 150 + 204

Post #7 doesn't really have that much of a clue :(
Except that the previous posts related to 150 DSG and Post 7 related to a 204 DSG, so yes, 150 and 204 DSG are liable for this fix. The only point remaining is ' When was the Production Line Fix implemented? '.

Well.... my 204DSG Built Aug 2016 is going in next week for the Software quality upgrade and when questioned on the phone about the anti-chafing, he said "Nothing listed" so I'll have the conversation with them directly when I'm there along with the DPF differential pressure sensor (which seems only an issue on the 150)..

Had mine done last Thursday :thumb, whilst they also fixed an issue with my leisure battery and a blown fuse on the 12v circuit. All the Cali guys at Heritage Bristol are really customer focused, as was Harry the technican who talked me through how to replace the fuse if I had the same problem again. With so many new Cali owners on here and in Bristol area (or close by) we ought to arrange a little meet up.

Been thinking the same. I'm up for it.

I'll be down that way this afternoon, how quick can you organise one :thumb

TeeJay1 - I hope you have a great tour of the South West! Have you got an outlione itinery planned yet? I know lts of people were making recommendations...! Please ask if you have any questions. i may not be able to answer all of them but have a pretty good knowledge of the SW, attainied through visits or research!

I've just noticed on my invoice from last week (wheels & springs) that it also says at the bottom:

NOTES: Completed campaign 21G3 while in with us

I'll have to ask them what that means. I had the previous 'product enhancement' last time it was in for the annual service, so that's not the fuel pipe etc.
