German price: 600 is €55k, 680 is €57k and 680 4x4 is €64k. Spec is basic but can be configured on German VW site.

UK price for 600 is expected to be £65k but the £15k premium delivers a higher spec.

Available to order June/July

All duty and potential tariff charges will be passed on. (Eg 10% WTO tariff if no brexit deal is agreed)

Make of it as you will.

Edit: I should add; talking to the VW rep.....

Me: ‘nowhere to hang the shower head’
Rep: ‘yeah I know, it’s a bit embarrassing’
Rep: ‘we did think about going out and buying something for the show until someone pointed out we’d have to do it for all ones sold’
Me: ‘benifit of the t6 Cali fridge is you can gain access without loosing all your cold air.
Rep: ‘Yeah that’s not been thought through too’
Me: ‘how efficient is the fridge on a hot day in direct sunlight with the door open?’
Rep: ‘oh, bet no one thought of that’

One wonders what else??

And if I had to describe it in one word:

Ugly.

The 680 is much easier on the eye.

There did not seem to be any theme to it. That great big space at the back that does nothing, the mish-mash of white melamine all over the place, the bright lighting that made it look like a Bangkok Bordello....

It just looked, outside and in, like everything was an afterthought.

I went to look at Hymercar's and Autosleepers instead. Far more cohesive in design.

Interesting. We’ll be there tomorrow.

I could just have been having a bitch moment :sad

I was with my Sister looking at Caravan accessories mostly, and my poorly foot was screaming it's head off. After three hours of tramping round the NEC all we had to show for it was a cable reel and a leaflet for a collapsible bucket :D

So it all really depends on what "higher spec " constitutes. I priced out what I wanted on a 4x 4 on the german site and it came in at €75k. If its much more than that in the UK I'll import. LHD works for me.

Worth a look though?

Led a sheltered life. Have no idea what a “Bordello” might look like whether it be in Bangkok or elsewhere.:shocked

We’ve just had a good look at it and I can see where you’re coming from. I knew that the 680 wouldn’t be there but I was disappointed with the general feel of the 600. VW had a massive publicity campaign at the NEC but I felt sorry for the sales team because they knew virtually nothing new. They think that they will be taking orders in June for September delivery. They think the UK basic model will start at £65k for the 600 but said that the 680 will start at £75k which seems ludicrous when there is only £3k between the two models on the German configuration site! Too many imponderables! We’re now looking at either the Hymercar Yosemite or the Adria Twin Supreme, both having proved themselves in the market. Still love my Cali best though, but we have to change.

The poor woman on the stand yesterday: I said to her "can't just nip out to Sainsbury's in one of those and gives me little else to compensate for not having a Cali".... She just stood there and said "you\re about the 14th person to say that to me today".

She seemed totally unsupported. A half-hearted launch of a vehicle that no one needs to know how to sell.

They virtually admitted that they were in the dark about prices and final design, and were just fumbling their way through! As you say, the reality did not live up to the hype that had been built up by the publicity around the halls.

To those lucky enough to visit the NEC were there any other Crafter based campervans from other converters?

Not knowing final spec or prices doesn’t constitute a launch imo

Was also disappointed to learn that the vehicle at the show is a LHD preproduction model and not one I could protentially purchase.

Still looking forward to seeing it on Saturday but the shine has dulled a little

Yes- IH were there- I think the price was £79k- and a couple of others that I hadn’t heard of. But they all had the rear horseshoe shaped lounge which looked good but didn’t suit us. We prefer the fixed bed with room underneath for storage and access from the inside for our black lab. Plus we prefer the front end similar to the Cali ie swivelling front seats, bench seat and table.

Westfalia Sven Hedin.

Interesting to see but a massive 6m vehicle. It's definitely not a bigger Cali and the bed is across the vehicle which makes it short. The wine cooler was bigger though! The ice compartment almost impossible to get in.
I guess it will suit a different market sector.

My reflection having visited today is that there is nothing that gets close to a Cali for our specifications. We may lack glitz but our storage isn't full of metal frame. We don't have to kneel to get in the fridge or have everything fall out of the fridge when you're parked on a dodgy slope.
There's nothing else that is automatic, 4WD and has 6'4" beds. I came away from the show more in love with our Cali than ever!

Thanks. Missed that today but saw it in October. Very nice but a bit pricey, and a transverse bed with a fancy expanding window. We prefer longitudinal beds.
If you don't mind a coach-built the Adria Compact Slide out gives you the decent length longitudinal beds and keeps the van under 6 m long.

Thanks but we’re looking at van conversions, partly because of the width of my drive and partly because of how they handle.

Previously had a Peugeot based Motorhome, great white, which had excellent handling. Better than my Cali was at delivery spec.
Parking was another matter though when touring. got plenty of walking into town centres though.

Yes there is
I have t6 dsg 4motiom Westfalia club joker (high top), bed in roof is 2m long
Ok not as pretty as a Cali, only 5.3m long so can still go to shops/little lanes etc (to high for multi-storey carparks but I never parked my Cali in one of them).
Plus I’m living in mine at the mo.

True, I have seen them around and think they're great! Bit like hens teeth though!
