Bacon butty

Sola dosis facit venenum, as some dead Swiss bloke said...or it could have been Rees-Mogg?

Oh go on then - for those of you without a classical education: "All things are poison, and nothing is without poison, the dosage alone makes it so a thing is not a poison" (attributed to Paracelsus).
Since when has death been optional?

You don’t need a classical education these days, just Google!

I did a fast 800 for 11 days lost 12lbs, now on a 5:2 to lose a little more slowly.

What 800 calories for 11 days straight...?
That’s got to be tough.
I could do with losing a stone. But the flippin Easter Eggs keeping appearing :talktothehand

I’ve been doing one fast day a week coupled with one meat free day.
It’s more realistic than actual dieting. I love food and don’t want to stop eating anything in particular.

I'm on the Mediterranean diet which is pretty good don't feel hungry all that much lost 9 pounds in 14 days and I've managed to have no chocolate and it hasn't affected me one bit :Nailbiting :headbang  :punch :sorry

yeah once we get to target it will mostly be Mediterranean diet to maintain it. The book was really enlightening about modern food.

I wont lie it was very hard for a prelonged period to stick to 800 calories but after it 2 days is easy.

I don't know how you do it Matt sticking to 800 cal a day well done mate :thumb

For me it’s Dry Cure back bacon on thick white (maybe sesame) bloomer, I’ve never done butter, and if adding a fried egg a good tip I learned was to ‘slash’ the yoke at the last minute in the pan so it spreads out - you can still have sticky yoke but it covers the whole area instead of bursting out and landing on the plate! I’m ambisauceterous (red or brown).

Now try this for something different: back bacon on a toasted bagel (no butter) with Marmite AND ketchup. Don’t knock it till you’ve tried it.

I'd think the risk of eating bacon is far lower than smoking, drinking or even driving your cali on the roads...

Unless you happen to be a pig...

Elly.
I find slow cooking helps to.
At home we grill our bacon, but grill it slowly on low heat. This helps crisp the fat.
The downside, is bacon takes half hour to cook and I’ve eaten half a fresh bloomer with lashing of butter whilst it’s cooking :headbang:D
Oh, no!!! o_O
