I think VW are massively failing in the EV market right now. Their EVs are all odd looking things, not that desirable. Kia, Hyundai and BMW are doing so much better. Tesla in a league of their own of course but the gap is closing. VW as a company are generally screwed it seems… Could they go bankrupt? I would never say never but that would be some fall I suppose.Desperate times call for desperate measures.
The best sellers list of 2023 is a big change from how it used to be. No Fiesta, Focus, polo, Golf etc.I think VW are massively failing in the EV market right now. I rented a Ford Puma 6 months ago in Portugal. What a nasty little car. Why that is leading the charts is beyond me. Terrible dated design and colour scheme. Awful brakes and looseness in the handling and powertrain that beggars belief. Didn't feel like a modern car should. Maybe I had an outlier but I was not impressed. The best sellers list of 2023 is a big change from how it used to be. No Fiesta, Focus, polo, Golf etc.

VW Core unit is in financial straits. The next couple of years are going to be difficult and I wonder how this is going to reflect in the development of niche product lines like the California.I think VW are massively failing in the EV market right now. Haha, the Golf R could take me off the straight and narrow! My sone has one... it's bonkers!I’m seriously worried as VW seem to have put too many eggs in the EV basket.
I’ve loved VW’s for many years but don’t find one current model appealing. Even the current Golf GTI and R doesn’t do it for me.
At least they’ve got a nice new range of commercial vehicles coming through to fall back on.![]()
I had a Mk 7 Golf R in 2014. Lovely but only had it about 7 months. Had to drive it 100mph to enjoy it. Really dont like the look of the Mk8. I didn’t like it when it was released and it hasn’t grown on me one bit!Haha, the Golf R could take me off the straight and narrow! My sone has one... it's bonkers!![]()

He checked with them..... there was a massive rush ........ all gone!My son sent me this...... it seems cheap! what am I missing here?
…If they actually had any in the first placeHe checked with them..... there was a massive rush ........ all gone!
Totally agree. That's GOT to be less than the depreciation for sure.Well, I don't 'literally' mean cheap..... but over 2 years + 10000 miles per year the cost would pan out at a total of £10634.16. Yes that is a lot of money but I would have thought less than the depreciation if buying one?
Because it's in the section for chat about ID BuzzSuppose the first thing to say is: it’s not a Cali so why’s it in a Cali site?
