Pop-top insulation

I still havent manage to get any cord small enough for the hangers. Still got all summer to make them in prep for the winter.

Did make our own internal window insulation covers this week. Velcro on nicely on the rear windscreen and kitchen windows.
Dizzy,
They're not just for the winter! They act as a complete light blocker in the lighter mornings and kept it nice and cool the other day when the sun was beating down - it was like an oven between the liner and the poptop when I took them down!

I'll still pay you for them . Without the cord. My friend has her own sewing business so will ask her what i can use for cord. So much neater than velcro
This cord would work too - 2mm option available

Hi Calimili,

You're right, I did a quick test lowering the roof with the lining removed and laid flat on the mattress and stopped before the roof was right down as it started to compress the mattress. I roll it up and store it in an old tent bag - it would probably go smaller but this is easy and it fits in the locker with the rest of the beddingI didn't measure it but here are some photos.View attachment 133998View attachment 133999
smaller that I would have thought! Nice Job.

I glued one of the small hangers together.

Struggling to slide it into the gap in the top.

Hi Dizzy

I made a couple of short videos showing the hangers being inserted at the front and rear of the roof lining - please excuse the fairy lights (part of another work in progress). You can also see the hanger is a loose fit on the front RHS, hence the different thicknesses required which I assume will vary from van to van.

The videos were to large to attach to this post and so I have added to a Google photos album and given a link to this below, please let me know if the link doesn't work!

cheers, thats helpful, i suspect i need to assemble a thin hanger and try again, i went for the medium width!

will report back but not for a few days as i have done my back and cant climb into the pop top !
