Water pump saga, everything replaced but still not working!

Hi
I'm having a bit of a saga with my water system not working! I have a T6 2017 California Ocean. Initially the tap stopped working, I replaced it and it then worked for a short while and but soon stopped working again (once we got to Spain for a 6 week trip ), along with the shower as well. I checked and replaced the fuse and then replaced the water pump, still no joy. I've tested the shower and tap switches and the pump and they are all working.

I'm thinking there must be a relay in the water pump circuit and maybe that's the problem? Does anyone know whether this is the case and if so where it is? Also does anyone have a wiring diagram for the T6 California? Any other ideas appreciated!

Many thanks

There is no Relay in the system as standard, there are people that have done it (including myself) to try and prevent the tap contacts burning out. We have a shower as well, so i have a Relay fitted into the shower switch connector loop as the trigger. The Power is the standard fuse for both the pump and the relay trigger.

Standard / factory system is Fuse power to Tap Switch and Shower Switch, either switch then connects into Pump Power, Pump is Grounded via other wire to an earth point.

Many thanks for the very helpful response. That's another thing eliminated anyway. Still at a loss though as to why there is no 12v feed to either the shower to tap switch....

As you know which fuse runs the tap/pump have you checked
1. 12v at the fuse?
2. 12v at the tap connector?

If you have 12v at the fuse and not at the tap you could try running a separate 12v + to the tap connector. One of the plug contacts will be to the pump which should start up.

Hi

Many thanks for the response. 1. Yes we tested and have 12v at the fuse. 2. But we have no 12v at tap or shower switch. Pump works with direct 12v feed. We are now looking to trace the 12v feed from the fuse back through the van but can't find the connection point for the shower or tap switch. We've taken a look at the connector in the cupboard floor underneath the sink, but the 12v feed doesn't appear to be wired through this connector. The colour of the 12v feed wire from the fuse is not wired to any switches hence we're looking for another connection point. Any ideas on where this is or on how we sort the issue would be greatly appreciated.

This might help.

Fuse SH20, red and back wire to connector under kitchen unit floor (access hatch on floor of cupboard closest to front seats). pin 4, comes out as red wire. Spliced to Tap and Sower switches. So either will operate pump regardless of the other

That's very useful, being doing some more investigation this afternoon as a result. Tested the wire from pin 4 on the connector and getting 12v, however still no 12v to tap or shower switches. Do you know where where the splice connection is for the switches as I can't find it and I'm thinking that must be where the issue is. Many thanks

Sorry the wring diagrams don't have lengths nor physical locations of splices that I know of.

The kitchen unit +wardrobes +water tanks are placed in the vehicle as one unit, pre-wired, and that large connector is plugged in. So the wiring for tap etc is all within the unit. Can you trace the wires from the tap towards the connector. Probably run down the kitchen side behind front seat probably around R side of sink bowl and down front corner to base.

Thank you, I'll take a look tomorrow

If you cannot isolate the wire loom consider the following.
You have confirmed No 12v supply at the tap and I presume also at the rear shower switch/connector.
You have confirmed the pump works.
Splice a new wire to the output on Terminal 4 and splice the other end to the 12v wire supplying the tap.
The fact that you don’t have 12v to the tap or shower switch means the break/disconnection is Before the split in the wiring to serve tap and shower.
Splicing the new supply wire to the tap wire will supply tap and shower system.
