Uninsured Loss Cover Policy Not Valid In France

Currently sorting out a claim for a non fault accident in France, I have comprehensive insurance with Ageas and they are dealing with the claim. I also have the add on cover of their Uninsured Loss Recovery policy which I was hoping to use for recovery of excess, train travel and hotel expenses. However Ageas have advised me that this cover is only valid for the United Kingdom . Has anyone else come across this restriction?

That is helpful cover for a campervan ! Never tested in France but we had legal cover back in 2013 we used the legal cover bit of our insurance and claimed all the cost back for nonfault accident

Have you checked the policy document? Most likely there will be a mention of territorial limits. Most policies would cover. Probably also details in the small print around having a good chance of recovering from the other party.

Yes in fact I did check the policy and saw that the U//L cover was valid within the "geographical limits" So thought that's ok because their policy as a whole does cover me for France. But no it appears that term means United Kingdom only.
