All batteries replaced and software updated but still losing 10% every 2 days when van is not in use

I also have the PHEV but did not experienced the heater yet. Let me ask 3 questions: is the corner gap below the fridge the only place for the heat to come out? regarding the exhaust coming out I assume this is quite toxic to breathe while sleeping....? while in camping connected to mains... is there also a fuel consumption?
I'm not sure you understand how the Parking Heater, petrol or diesel, works. It is basically a heat exchanger. On one side is the fuel burner that takes air from outside the van and exhausts the combustion gases outside the van. On the other side of the heat exchanger air is sucked in via a vent inside the van, heated and vented back into the van. The 2 streams of air never mix so you won't be breathing exhaust fumes.
The Heater manufacturers state fuel consumption is about 0.3 L/hr on maximum. In normal use about 0.15 L/hr.

Thank you WelshGas!! I pretty much understand now . So I assume that even when connected to mains fuel consumption remains but you omit leisure battery consumption from vent. Am I correct?

All the caming equipment runs from the Leisure Batteries but if on Mains Hookup you are charging the batteries as you use them.
The Parking Heater only uses high amps when starting to heat the glow plug to start the fuel burn. Once running it uses very little.
On my T5.1 ran the Fridge and Parking Heater + lights and charging phone and ipad for 72 hrs off the Leisure Batteries in Knordkapp at -10c. That was on AGM batteries. Voltage was 12.2v at the end.

Hi again

Ok T7 van with with dealer again, 2nd time they had it, its a 2025 T7 ocean and 4 months old, this time they tell me they have replaced all 3 batteries and done the battery update again. I dont drive this an everyday, sometimes will be sat for a week plus, when I got the van home lesuire battery is on 100%, 2 days later lost 10%, guys what lose are you getting when not used, im so confused I thought it would be minimal the dealer tells me there is a drain inline with other calis in store, if you leave your van how much drain over 48 hours, what is draining lesuire batteries when not in use ?

Do you all have to hook up every week to charge when not in use ?

Is there a contact at VW UK?

Thanks Jonathan
Hi All

I have a Septemeber 25 reg Coast tdi. I have had all the issues mentioned and actually only had the van on my drive for a few days whilst it has been diagnosed for 2nd batteries not charging fro engine, batteries discharging to zero in 24 hours and the famous 'please remove charger cable' notification when the cable is not attached.

That said, I now have it back and the dealer had to swap a control unit from showroom van which diagnosed the fault and was deemed fixed.
It is now charging of the engine super fast but the 2nd battery is dropping 10% a day when idle. It is a bit cold at the moment but that does mean that I will be flat in 10 days if I don't start the engine or do EHU. That seems a birt crackers given nothing is left switched on. Is that what I am to expect going forward?
Can someone confirm to me that these new batteries are good to go flat and left for a while without getting damaged like normal batteries when left flat for a long while?

Any comments would be very much appreciated.

Good luck all
