Removal of roof lining in GC 600

Hi.

I want to replace the high-level brake light in a GC 600 2024. To do this, I need to access some screws on the inside of the roof. Awkwardly this is right behind the rear storage bins and the roof lining.

Anybody got any experience of removing the storage bins and then the rear roof lining to access the back of the brake light

You can do it with removing the cupboards - I took mine off to reseal it - I'll dig the link out and post it

Nick thanks for re linking Sascha’s tech info.
Wow how great info and he did he that in 90 minutes.
I sealed our unit externally. The sealant is slightly proud, but who will see it.
Time will tell if it works.

I would not use butyl tape. If for whatever reason that brake light needs removing in the future, it will not come off in one piece. Will need smashing and dremeling from the outside
