Nothing to do with cost.
A campervan should be simple and functional. Adblue adds another stumbling block. Anything to do with emissions usually ends up being problematic. Think DPF. Diesel is dead going forward.
Volkswagen really need to look at a decent petrol alternative for the California. I would be interested in a decent more powerful petrol motor without all the emissions rubbish diesels have to adhere too.
