1st trip to France via tunnel with kids. Where to go?

I'm hoping to avoid too many crowds by not going too far South, and avoiding the coast. It is early August unfortunately. Is that wishful thinking?

We’ve been here 3 times with our kids. Often stayed longer. Lovely pool, kids club and pizza cafe. Day trips to Vézalay and Auxerre. Flat bike ride along canal very nearby. Not far and always had good weather.
