2 seater storage box latch

My son has managed to break the (admittedly rubbish) button/latch on the storage box on our 2 seater 2016 Beach. It's always been a hopeless mechanism, but the plastic casing has cracked on it now so looks like I need a new one...

Does anyone know where I could find a parts list for the box? Might need more than the latch because a strut has also failed :-(

Am assuming that it's a dealership job? Breaks my heart every time I have to give them money!!!

yes it's an awful latch. But mechanically simple.

Can you get a local carpenter/cabinet maker / van converter to do something for you?

Otherwise a painful trip to VW is most likely outcome

Might need more than the latch because a strut has also failed :-(

Have you tried removing the struts? The box lid opens further and without the struts there is more usable space in the box. (Assuming 2016 & 2018 designs are the same)

So.... From the parts catalogue I can access you either buy the box, or you don't. Nothing on the box is available separately (unlike all the other screws, washers etc in the diagram!)

Anyone know who makes it?!

I tell a lie! Finally tracked down the box to parts illustration number "067-030 Base plate storage container"
Struts part number: 7E8067081
"Lock"(!) part number: 7E8067025

A caravan / motorhome parts & accessories place would be more likely to have the button as its a fairly standard part used by a lot of conversion companies.
