2016 T6 2l diesel Auto driveshaft failure

Hi all,
My 2016 2litre Auto has suffered driveshaft failure.
The end at the gearbox seems to be installed dry, or with very little grease. The splines on the end of the driveshaft & in the gearbox have corroded and are now slipping.
I have the driveshaft, but it seems that VW only want to supply a complete gearbox- rather than just the female spline gear (or whatever that part is called?)
Has anyone else suffered this, or know if that part is available?
