Just had our 22 ocean lowered with a B14 Komfort coil over set. Wish I hadn’t waited 8 months. Far nicer to drive, feels like it actually wants to go around tighter bends with the driver, wallows less, feels more in control. Would say that over all comfort is about the same as stock.

Still a good amount of ground clearance and will fit under more stuff!! Transporter HQ were fantastic and very knowledgable.

In my opinion the stance and look is far more suited to the Van as well.

Does it allow you to corner at higher speeds?
 
With good quality coil over kits, the Cali is more car like when travelling with pace !
 
Sorry if this is a daft question, as a soon to be new Cali owner, by how much do these lower the van height? Important option for me as stock height doesn't fit in my garage:(.
 
Both looking great... I'm trying to decide at the moment whether to lower my '22 with the -30mm Eibach kit or go for the B14's. My head says the former but my heart the latter...!
 
We had our suspension changed but not lowered (as it wasn't for aesthetic reasons,) and it's made a massive difference. Well worth doing, no difference to insurance.
 
I saw the air suspension kit at the NEC the other week which looked great. It has sport mode, off road mode and a really low setting.
It also has a self levelling mode all of which doesn’t affect the VW warranty.
Expensive though but worth considering £6.5k if you intend keeping the van.

In all the years I’ve owned Volkswagen vans. I never thought the suspension was bad enough to warrant £6.5k spend.
I personally feel the standard set up is t that bad, just a tad high.
 
I've seen lots of discussion about suspension over the years here but I was surprised how different to the Panel van & kombi, the California drives. I never thought I'd want to change the suspension, especially so soon after buying but we were getting seasick. Especially compared to the T6 kombi, which was really sorted imo with a heavy bed in the boot, the 6.1 Cali was awful. Very difficult conversation as it's an expensive vehicle to start with...
 
First change would be an Anti-roll bar kit.

B14's are lower than standard setup, ie from memory they are 25mm lower as designed for use with lowered springs.

Advantage of using an adjustable setup is that you can set to suit your individual requirements unlike just a spring change resulting in either what you want or not as expected.

Best option, cost permitting, is air suspension as you can go very low for barrier clearance.
My Bilstein Air goes so low that the mudflaps drag on the ground (not that I ever use it that low except washing the roof)

the kit I went with is adjustable from 40mm - 70mm, think it is set at about 55mm

It might sound a silly answer but it depends how high your van is to start with.

I'm on my 3rd SE/Ocean & the second one was highest followed by the 1st & current one is lowest - at a guess something like 70mm difference at delivery between highest & lowest!
All 3 have been standard.
 
I'll be curious on tyre wear.

I have B14 Komfort coilovers (over 2yrs now) which are dropped circa 50mm average. All good, apart from the front tyre wear with the 18in (20in I understand will be worse). I've getting about 10 to 12k on Bridgestone A005 (now gone to CC). Just looking at the BVS tracking sheet for the Cali and I'm suprised that its only showing -0.56 negative camber across the front.

No issue with rear tyres even with -1.45 negative camber.
