When using 240v extension lead outside van anyone found a “route” from the van to avoid an open window or continual kinking of the mains lead.
I guess an outside water proof socket would be ideal - anyone attempted this?

Does yours not have a hook up socket ? Or do you mean taking power from within to outside ?

Probably doesn't comply with site hook-up rules, but how about one of these and one of these?

Run your usual hook up lead to the Y splitter it and place it under the van so it keeps dry.

Then a short hook up lead to run from one of the tails of the splitter to the van connection point.
And use the other tail on the splitter to connect the 13 Amp lug socket unit.

With a bit of Googling, it looks like you could get both items at a lower price than those shown in the links.

Thanks for the responses. I tend to use electric grill and air fryer outside so rather then put an extension cable through the window or door it seemed more logical to have a suitable external socket that would take an extension lead. Common on my replaced motorhome.

We changed the plug on the near end of our hook up lead to one of these then stick a travel adaptor in the outlet.

When using an awning we take a tent hook up (like the 2nd photo in post #4) plugged into the site connection. Then we use the 13A plug adapter to connect to the vans hook up cable. The 2 cables are a bit bulky, but then so is the awning!
