Top door sliders of kitchen cabinet doors (VW part 7H7098390B)
My T5.2 is a conversion of a Transporter to a Cali lookalike.
The sliders / hinges of the kitchen cabinet doors were VW part 7H7098390A, the steel ones. Unfortunately they were very poorly mounted (just like other parts of the conversion) and two broke.
Nowadays they are replaced by VW part 7H7098390B, which are plastic ones. A repair set was 64,95€ for two of them in the Netherlands. I bought them and one broke during install because of a poorly mounted top rail. I won’t repeat what I said at that moment but both the Lord and a slight reference to the 7th commandment were mentioned.
The cheapest pair I found in Germany sets you back at 43,90€.
Well, as much as I grant someone to earn a living, I think this is too much for two small pieces of plastic.
So, I will design my own and prototype the outcome with different materials for strength.
Once done, I will share that 3D printable design here, but I won’t be selling it to anyone.
It’s these things I’m talking about:
