Photography is one of my favorite hobbies. Travelling with the California is the ideal combination.
My photos are all "GEOTAGGED". You can find the location via the "INFO" button with the photo. The camping spots are provided with a link to the camping.

We did two and half weeks in Norway in August. My second visit to the country, it is stunning.

The route you took looks amazing. Me and my wife would have done that but it would have been too much driving for our kids (4 and 7), so our route didn't go that far north.

i need to go back to Norway / Sweden etc. my last visit was 2012 :(

Useful first photo with route. I have to compare it to my planned route, which I came up with in 2013, but never had time or proper car to go. Usually, when I had free time, I was driving wrong car. And now when I have proper car, I didn't have time yet. Almost went last year, almost ...

Thanks for sharing your trip experience; it looks amazing! I’m planning a similar journey and had a question about managing bathrooms and showers on the road. From your experience:
  1. Were there plenty of toilets and showers available along your route?
  2. Did you mostly rely on campground facilities, or did you find other options?
  3. Any tips or advice on where to find these facilities?
Thanks so much for any insights you can share!

Yes, in Norway You find a toilet (clean)on every corner of the street. We also brought our own toilet. You find a shower on every official camp place. Also in the ports where we camped that was no problem. Often heated too.

We have camped freely in nature a few times. Many of these places that we found via park4night were already occupied. It is therefore not advisable to do this in high season. The LOFOTEN were very busy. We did not stay there long.

A must is the SKYTTELPASS
With this you automatically pay all toll roads, bridges or tunnels. You can also pay for the ferries with this. For this you have to link the unique number of your Pass to the ferry service. You also have to pay for this in advance. What you have not used will be refunded after the trip.

NORWAY IS VERY CLEAN. KEEP IT LIKE THAT

What fantastic pictures and the memories, wow! You have a very good eye.

40 days is a long time, did you feel like you were on the road a lot? I noticed you went to Lofoton; this is featured in many UK travel magazines and articles. Was it overcrowded with tourists and worth the visit?

It looks like you had good weather so i guess it was the best time of the year to visit?

We left on May 20th. If you leave earlier, you have certain roads that are closed to all traffic because of the snow. Sometimes it is stated on the internet that the road is still closed and then it turns out that it was just opened. In the Lofoten it was very busy and the weather was also disappointing. We did not stay long. Someone said that 30% more passes were sold for 2024 compared to the year before.

Thank you so much for this post / photo set.
Superb photography. Norway looks wonderful, we might.......... ?
It's a bit far from Dublin, must check ferry routes.
How many kilometers in total?

We ‘did’ Norway August 2019. Stunning! It didn’t feel busy compared to the rest of Europe. However, Norway is (deceptively) huge. It’s not so much the ‘kilometres’ as the ‘hours’ of travel. Lots of slowish roads - the type of driving I enjoy actually. Allow an extra week on top of your best estimate if you want a relaxed break.
