500nm rear door struts

hi all has anybody fitted the adjustable 500nm gas struts to the rear door?,I watched a guy on YouTube he had them fitted.The door had a full size spare wheel and box the door stayed up without assistance

We have the 1200N struts & with no bikes & the camping chairs removed its a struggle on a hot day to get it shut.

If bikes are on the rack it will stay open if we remove the chairs which is easier than finding some one to hold it open.

yes Bit of a balancing act not sure how easy adjustment would be but the idea could be good
