OK, I can't get to a dealer to work this out, and can't see a specific 6.1 answer on this, but what're the under-shelf dimension for the Coast/Ocean?

I can see the shelf support on the right seems rather chunky...

Same as all other California, apart from Beach
I think it’s the same as the shelf in its lower position on the T5/T6. But it doesn’t have the option to raise to the higher position.

I appreciate that, but like I said the shelf support on the right looks much more substantial than our old T5...
I think your correct I'm sure I read that the mechanisms from the lounge bed function encroach on the space more so will affect the height of anything you put tight to the sides. Cant give any specifics I'm afraid. I also remember watching a cali chris video where he shows you how to remove it which may give you a better idea.

Here you go:-

Hi Sad,
Yes the ‘lounge bed’ bracket/mechanism is quite chunky. The most restrictive bits are on the wardrobe side of the space (by the light) where you have about 12 inches of headroom locally. Not been a problem for me, but obviously depends what you want to store in there.

Also note that if you want to get to the rear leisure battery the lounge bed mechanism has to be removed in order to open the access panel. Not difficult but something to bear in mind if you plan to have solar panels fitted. I removed mine prior to visiting Roger at Solar Camper Solutions. Same applies to the slide out shelf, i didn’t install until after solar was fitted - just less hassle on the day and gave Roger clear access.

That's interesting info - I was looking at ordering and fitting the slide out shelf before I got solar, so I think I'll hang fire on this for now.
Thanks for the heads up!

The photo above is not the same as my T6 Ocean. The bracket on the right and the grid are different and so I assume the dimensions are different. I cant make out the left bracket in the photo but it could also be different. I'll send a couple of photos in next post.

T6 Ocean brackets.

Thanks all...

Indeed, I expect the space below the shelf to be the pretty standard 100cmx34cmx80cm, but these shelf supports are different to previous Calis.

Any 6.1 owners able to advise on how much they encroach into the loading space?

This highlighted piece is the biggest encroachment. You have about 12” below it to the floor.

OK, so today's the day I can finally answer my own question :happy
20210508_110805.jpg

On the near/wardrobe side I'd say you're restricted to about 32cm height out to around 18cm from the wardrobe. This is due to the mechanism of the lounge function.
On the offside, the bed rest there actually only restricts the access by about 1cm due to it's position and 'flare' out of the trim.
Again with the added restriction of the lounge mechanism, I'd work to a general maximum height of 34 cm.

Hope that makes sense! :thumb I'm back off to the garage to clean up mucky paw prints off the floor o_O
