Is VW aware and doing anything about any of these issues on future new builds that you’re aware of? Mine starts it’s build on 5th October.Where do I start...
Roof getting stuck
Camper display frozen
Table on kitchen cabinet bolts loose, the ones that make it slide.
Plastic bracket underneath table fixed in wrong place...on all tables! You cannot use the black webbing strap to loop over your bench seat headrests because of this.
New catch design inside the cabinets broken off on ALL of my T6.1s.
Drawer front under bench seat incorrectly fitted.
Bolts on camping chairs loose.
"Please wait..." stuck on main display.
Battery indicator tells fibs.
That'll get you started
All reported to my local dealership. Is VW aware and doing anything about any of these issues on future new builds that you’re aware of? Mine starts it’s build on 5th October.
I must be really unlucky then. All of my T6.1 have the same issues!Well
Here goes !
Infotainment update!
That’s it.
Nothing else ,6months in and all is well,,
I think you get good vans and you get bad vans
It’s like anything it depends on who’s on your van on the build day I suppose?
Really that is unluckyI must be really unlucky then. All of my T6.1 have the same issues!
Well just I'm not going completely mad. Have a look at the black circular disc underneath your kitchen table. I'll put money on the fact it's fitted to the right of the collapsible leg....AND you will not be able to make use of the black strap that goes around the headrest of the bench seat and connects to this.Really that is unlucky
Also check for signs of stress fractures where your left hand kitchen cupboard closes...bet there is signs of stress.

They are rented out. Have been out constantly since June. Broken on all of the T6.1. However my T6s are all in perfect shape. That tells you something!Just had a quick look
Nothing wrong here is yours a rental van?
Maybe miss use?
New 6.1 in March. One problem. Three times electronic roof has stuck at three different campsites all on day we were leaving. Each time sorted itself after around two hours including driving around campsite with roof up looking like a total idiot. There is a warning. The night before Each incident the lights in the roof failed to work while all other lights were working. Took to VW garage and roof was recalibrated. Happened again a couple of weeks ago. Back to garage on Monday. Have lost confidence. For the record followed advice and kept engine running when trying to bring roof down. It’s an annoying puzzleWhere do I start...

Ocean model. No problems so far with roof or frozen control unit but:
Radio stucks loading user profile or it does not connect to internet
Fixed by a software update at the dealer, but not for the radio itself but for the unit where the esim card is. They told me this is a recognized problem and the update description mentions this problem.
Battery remaining time is random
But the percentage represented by the blue bars seems to be consistent. Curiously it is the remaining time and not the percentage what drives the unit control decision of shutdown devices. It has happen only once but control unit powered down the freezer after time left jumped to just 15min having 50% of the battery. A couple of minutes later it jumped again to more than 30 hours left. I suspect this is related to current flowing from leisure batteries to the main when the alternator is off. Waiting an answer.
Maneuver braking function does not work.
I am not talking about park-assist neither other fancy assistants, but the basic park-pilot. I have the option to enable it in the car options but it does not work, tested with cartons. Also, the button to disable it when park-pilot came in suggest it is enabled but the button itself is disabled and does not respond. I have also tried all combinations possible between park-pilot automatic activation enabled/disabled and braking function enabled/disabled. Waiting an answer.

Table strap fixing point at the wrong place
Or the bundled strap is too short. Already discussed here: https://vwcaliforniaclub.com/threads/t6-1-table-strap-fixing-point.36158/. Waiting an answer.
Child safety net brackets cannot be fastened
I think this also has been discussed here: https://vwcaliforniaclub.com/threads/t6-1-roof-safety-net.34488/. Waiting an answer.
Hi
I have seen several posts within threads regarding issues 6.1 owners are experiencing.
Thought this may be of interest to 6.1 owners, those who have ordered awaiting delivery and those considering ordering.
The electronic roof bug that the others also mentioned. VW just does not give a flying f**ck about it. they told us to unplug fuse 5-8 if that happens. And it happens a lot and i cant imagine pulling fuses twice a month is good for the car.
So the thing is, the new camper unit is crashing at some point and you cant close the roof then. But VW was so confident that the CU is amazing that they got rid of the reset button/key combo from the t6. so the only way to restart the CU is to unplug the fuses. after that you can close the roof again
