A different wheel & tyre question?

Hey folks. Perhaps a bit presumptuous to think this is a different question but…

I have a 2019 Beach on standard suspension and 16 wheels (w Hankook 215/65s). My intention is to lower the suspension slightly (30mm) and put 17” wheels on. Improve handling but keep comfort.

I don’t want a swamper look as such but am thinking about a non VW black wheel and tyre set (235/55) that looks good, not too standout or stylised? It keeps the van looking nice and a foot in either camp as it were.

Would appreciate your thoughts & recommendations?

The drop would be similar to the VW Eibach spring fitted from new (dealer fit).
17” wheels , 235/55 tyres , also a standard used by VW OEM

just be sure the wheels are load rated correctly for the Van,

inform your insurer of the mods and get the correct paperwork for the wheels. (Insurer will want to see testing and rating for the wheels if non OEM / standard)

similarly tyres need to load / speed rated for the van.

Everything and more has been said on this topic.

What I can add is that I’ve recently reverted back to 16” from 17”. The ride quality improvement is significant. The 17s were nice but 16 is better.

Turn in, steering response seems equivalent.

Jury is out on aesthetics but I’m happy to go comfort over bling.

Yes I am thinking sportline factory spring height. Thanks
