Hi,

Just had a look and tickets are now on sale of the Adventure Overland Show 2014, held at Stratford-Upon-Avon Racecourse on 27/28 September 2014.

Camping is £25 for the weekend (Fri/Sat/Sun nights). Tickets £12 per day. However, I don't really see the point of booking ahead, there is massive amounts camping space available and late arrival doesn't seem to be a problem.

It's not a VW show, it's more about vehicle based travelling a bit off the beaten track, but there were plenty of VW's there last year.

Here's our write up from the 2013 show: http://wp.me/p223xC-7x

If there's a few going I'm sure we can organise a California section in the campsite.

I went last year, a lot of serious off road trucks there.
I turned up at about 10pm without booking which was no problem, probably do the same this year, just turn up hopefully a bit earlier though.

'tis this weekend.

Sadly not taking the van up this year, in case anyone goes looking for a beaten up Westy on the campsite

Was a chilled weekend, some good and inspirational presentations, decent beer and food and a slightly unusual choice of band for Saturday night in the beer tent.

Traders seemed a little down on last year and the big trucks were missing which was a shame. Lots of VW T3s (many Westfalias) and a couple of LT40s on display though, so lots of eye candy in addition to all the landies and cruisers.

The campsite was just as interesting as the display areas.

Had a ride on a fat bike (mountain bike with 4" tyres) too, which wasn't at all what I expected.

Can't wait to get our van back on the road now and not least because some oaf fell on our tent in the early hours of Saturday morning!

Hope Betty is well enough to take you on more adventures. She has certainly been through some tough times, but those first trips out in Betty and a few nights sleep under her pop top, will wash away all those frustrations.

The engine's being reassembled as I type, not sure if they'll get finished today yet, but I live in hope!

I got my fingers crossed for you. Last year Corky, our T4 Westfalia, developed a fault, and I must have spent literally hundreds of hours reading, researching and finding someone competent to resolve the issue. Two local vw specialists were stumped, and VW Cardiff were going to swap turbo etc. I knew it wasn't the turbo, turned out it was a failing fuel pump. Once pump was reconditioned, everything was 100%. The journey was a nightmare, but the outcome was all the more satisfying because of the problems.
