Advice on springs

Hi everyone,

We've just bought our Beach, which is on factory-fitted lowered springs. Lovely to drive, and I'm aware of the problems of putting it back on standard springs (rolling, wallowing and sea sickness!), but we live down a fairly bumpy road leading to the odd scrape underneath, and so we're thinking that we could do with a little extra ground clearance. So, after a some advice:

- Does any body know what the practical clearance difference would be. I've read somewhere around 30mm, does that sounds about right?

- Does anybody know what springs come as standard? I've looked it up on Euro Car Parts, and suitable front springs seem to be this one (https://www.eurocarparts.com/p/sachs-coil-spring-627446220). Rear springs though come in standard (https://www.eurocarparts.com/p/starline-coil-spring-627445119) or heavy duty (https://www.eurocarparts.com/p/sachs-coil-spring-627445210) - would the standard Beach springs be the heavy duty ones to come with the extra weight? VW have quoted me a silly price to do the work, but were cagey on what parts they were going to use!

- Does anyone have a set of standard springs from a beach that they'd be willing to sell, after converting the other way round?

Thanks!

30mm is VW lowered figure.

The springs will be stiffer resulting in less drop, loss of ground clearance, as weight is added than standard springs.
Your real life height gain may be less than anticipated by changing springs.

Standard springs are virtually a givaway item. Look on Ebay as there is a firm who have lots available that are taken off new vehicles.

T32 being the optimum set as below

I disagree, T32 are not optimum, they will be far too stiff.

On a beach, the standard ones (without a saggy back) are ones with the following paint colours

Front is 2 grey 1 green
Rear is 4 pink

Some Beaches came with 3 pink, but they sit low at the back

Optimum or should I have said ultimate stiffness, load capacity. said to be fitted to Oceans.

VW have numerous springs fitted to the T range depending on Model and variation it seems.
