I have just bought an aeropress for the Cali. However, I’m a bit concerned that the amount of physical pressure needed to press the coffee into the cup will be a problem on the glass surfaces. Does anyone have any experience of using the aeropress in their van?

We use a wooden cutting board under the Aeropress to distribute the pressure.

You can also use the fold-out table to press coffee.

Pressured regards from Amsterdam,

Marc.

Do it every morning in the van on the glass. Not broken yet. TBF I use the inverted method which needs less pressure and I use this instead of the supplied filter which makes things a lot easier.

I tend to put my coffee on the floor to squeeze it through. Although I do make it on the glass when the beds are still out.

No problems at all.

@dspuk i like the idea of that filter however it does mean washing up!!!! The magic of Aeropress for me is that no cleaning is required.

I make it on the floor too. I have once failed to put the bottom on before filling it up! It's a great bit of kit especially for a camper van.

Gently and don’t place on middle of the glass and all should be fine. Has for me anyway.

If you grind your own beans (I recommend a decent burr hand grinder) try a slightly coarser grind. Also worth adopting the “upside down “ method.

I agree, I find the aeropress quite difficult and actually not that clear to use. I have one of these, still manual, but with the espresso capsules its super clear and reliable.

That looks great, I might give that a try, thanks for the link

Love my aeropress and have a travel kit with a mini 1zpresso q grinder which I take everywhere. I also use the inverted method and a metal filter.

That said, for the van I mostly use a bialetti mocka pot.
