It had to happen at some stage but a 2mm (ish) diameter chip has appeared on the bonnet!

Touch up kit ordered, rather annoying. Polished/sealed the rest of it just to make myself feel better.

Darn!!

I'm fortunate enough to have a scuba diving friend who run the local "Chips Away" franchise...

Definitely recommend them.

Heard good things but I'm confident I can sort it - if I fail, I'll call them!

Well into "detailing" (i.e. washing taken to a geeky scale!) and also used to make a lot of model kits - the two combined mean I should be able to do a good job.

I hope.

Ahhhh, another detailer... You'll be sharing views on claying and percentages of carnauba wax next ;-)

There's a few of us around... :)

What's claying. :?: And carnubra :D you've lost me on that one :crazy

I stopped at claying a new California but plenty do!
Now fully polished and sealed with Zaino Z5 Pro. It was a massive job!

Other car will be clayed and sealed soon...!

Glad I'm not the only cleaning weirdo!

Kev
"claying" is a compound that is used like polish to clean all the chemical stains (that will not come off with detergent) off paint work, usually done once or twice a year.
"carnauba" is a type of wax that is highly regarded by detailers.

Others will correct me if I am wrong !

Thanks andy. I just use turtlewax. Every now and then.
