Air bag fault - clock spring

So the air bag light came on last week. A quick VCDS check confirmed it was the drivers air bag (high resistance).

Google suggested the culprit could be the clock spring.

I found a gen VW unit on the Bay. Part number visible in the picture.
Easy 15 minute fit. Once the fault was cleared the air bag light is no longer illuminated. Happy days.

Yes, did mine a while back. Quite a common thing I believe. I bottled it as I didn’t want to risk setting anything off and asked my local mechanic to fit it, cost £20 I think!
