Hi All,

I wanted to post a thread regarding my recent journey to update my old VW CD Radio system (1K0035186AA 7647201360 Blaupunkt 1125) to an integrated Android Auto touch screen.

I've had to do a lot of research to find the unit I wanted, but more so identifying the correct fascia trim for my camper (a T5.1) so the outcome looked flush and neat.

Hopefully, this will help anyone looking to do the same select the correct parts easily and quicker than the ordering returning process I went though.

Notes:
  1. I had this fitted by someone who knew what they were doing. I ordered the kit however, so I can only comment on the parts. Not the tech side of wiring etc.
  2. The audible reversing beeps remain. No idea how as I thought I was lose them. No reversing graphic on the new unit though.
Kit:
  • Original Unit: 1K0035186AA 7647201360 Blaupunkt 1125
  • New Unit: Sony xav-ax5650 (You Tube product over view here)
  • Fascia Trim: CT24VW12 (Many other products will fit this trim, not just this Sony unit I ordered. Note there is a slight gap under the Sony unit and the bottom edit of the trim)
  • Wiring Loom: CT20AU04
  • USB Plug-in: WILLIZTER USB 3.0 and HDMI Male to Female Round Car Flush Mount Cable Extension Mount Panel Mount Dash Mount (in glove box)
Happy to answer any question or queries if I can

Thank you to those who answer queries on this forum in the earlier parts of my research jouncy. As always this community is brilliant.

Thanks,

I considered this to replace my kenwood 525, as the sound is worse than standard, but had to hold off due to other expenses happening.
Is the sound as good or better than standard? I assume you have all the steering wheel controls.

I'm no audiophile, however the sound seems clearer and crisp.

I don't have the steering wheel controls, so the above writing loom maybe no good of you do.
