Found in the boot after moving bench seat back and forth and installing 5th seat. Keys shown to illustrate size. Approx 18mm diameter and 20mm long.

I’ve checked the clips for the chairs in the tailgate, and the part in question didn’t come from there. Mystery continues, so any further suggestion are most welcome!

It does look like the type clips you get on loads of chair bases. Have you had any other chairs or things like drying racks in the van. What model Cali do you have?

Now there’s a thought. I store a folding drying rack between the metal parcel shelf and mattress. It might be from that. Will check tomorrow. Thanks. Much appreciated. Would be good to confirm the Cali is not missing a part!

Sorted! Thanks to everyone who chipped in. The part ended up not being from our California. It was from a folding drying rack stored in the back. Phew!
