Anyone taken their Cali down to Winspit in the Purbecks.

I don't know if this is the correct forum but years ago I had a land rover 90 and drove down to the caves at Winspit. I wondered if anyone has recently taken their Cali and camped there, great location but the track was narrow. Alternatively anyone know of a place to camp near the Square and Compass, 'Worth Matravers', I am thinking of our first trip out next weekend.

Concur Tom's Field and a walk across the footpath to Dancing Ledge and Winspit. Also further along the road from Tom's Field is another camp open in the summer Acton Field.

Would be worth (ha ha) Popping your head into the pub to ask about a local spot. They'll give you a heads up to any local spots no problem.

There is a very good little Pub just a short walk doen the road from Tom's Field campsite which is a very pleasant small campsite. Enjoy.

Have camped so many times at Tom's Field - a hop step and a jump down the Priests Way to S&C and their pastry goodies! Yet to try Acton when we are in a big group we stay down the hill at Woodyhyde

You can't take vehicles down to the quarry anymore. However, there is a car park by the Square and Compass. Also within walking distance of Winspit is Chapmans pool which is a pleasant isolated bay, beautiful on a sunny day.
