This can be a pretty common problem. You might simply need to buy a set of these brackets which should fix the problem. They replace an alloy part on the armrest that often cracks, especially if the armrest is used as a temporary step into the upstairs bed. Fingers crossed this helps.

I thought one of mine needed the repair kit, but took off the plastic cap and tightened the bolt, and hey presto it was fixed. Very common problem on T4s.
