One of my dogs is terrified of fireworks, so we've booked a holiday that week.

Now found out our town is having its display in Oct, so can anyone suggest a campsite in North Wales where it's quiet, please?

You could try this one, no houses particularly near it and in a nice area for walking too.

Our pets are terrified of fireworks too so we were advised to use a plug in Feliway diffuser to calm them down. You can also get it in a spray bottle for putting on bedding if they are nervous.
There is one for dogs too https://www.adaptil.com/uk/ One of our neighbours has a puppy that was scared of going in the car. She put some of this on her favourite blanket and the puppy is now fine with car travel.

Thanks Simon.

We've tried the Adaptil and the fireworks cd but she's so bad, she tries to go through walls to get away. Unfortunately, we have fireworks all round as we live right in town and that's not helped. Even distant gunshots will send her frantic...makes walks *interesting*. :)

Likewise with our sheepdog rescue, so it looks like a wildcamp in the remotest part of Exmoor for us. She seems to find it harder and more distressing the older she gets.

Much sympathy. Pip is getting worse with age too.

Simon's suggestion is closed, so I suspect we'll up on a layby somewhere. NY was the Great Orme in our old van, which was not comfortable.

Sorry, I hadn't realised it was changing over to be lodges only at the end of October. There is another site on the same road, but a bit nearer to a village http://www.snowdonia-park.co.uk/campsite It's about a mile from houses, so it might be quiet. There is a micro brewery on site with very nice beer too.
There are quite a few other campsites around there, but I don't know anything about them.
These can be very enjoyable. They tend to be a bit quirky, not posh, but comfortable.
https://coolcamping.com/campsites/uk & another is https://www.freedomcampingclub.org/
The latter is a new register of campsites all over the UK.

Good luck, sorry that the plug in calmer didn't work. It has helped with all our cats over the years, plus the thick curtains and finally recently installed double glazing. We live in Central Bristol and it goes on for a whole month with the students, and others, celebrating.

Round here the fireworks tend to start the week before and end at least a week after the 5th November. Our dog wasn't keen so he went into our basement storage room with the radio on and some treats, each evening. He used to wait outside the door after our evening meal.
