awning attachment choices

Just wondering those without a wind out awning when you connect your drive away awning do you use a kador strip and figure of 8 or the pole and clamp method.
This is connecting to the rubber strip that fits in the rail.

Pretty sure everyone uses the Kador strip and figure 8, I did whilst I had the awning.
