Awning on Beach

The Beach fits my budget and I'm happy not to have a lot of storage. One change I would like to make is to remove the awning on the side. Research seems to indicate its possible, however could anyone tell me if there is a seal kit/plate etc that covers the fixing on roof ?

just put fixings back into the roof when awning removed Or a simple plastic bung
