Is this just for roof warmers/bags/whatever they are called? Or does anyone fit an awning on the "wrong" side?!!

Given that the awning is a "Factory Option " while the rails are standard - although we have yet to see a Cali without an awning - could the near side awning rail be there for symmetry where an awning is not fitted :?:

Yet you could argue that the Cali single off side awning is asymmetrical.

:eek:ops - sounds like a political committee answer :bomb

Perhaps someone out there has a very ingenious use for the nearside awning rail.

A Nearside Awning Rail Club - offshoot of the Flat Earth Society :?:

Seen on a German website a small canopy that use the rail. This means the side window can be open even when it rains.

How about attaching a washing line to it?

Or a zip wire?

Or one of those window cleaning baskets they have on tall buildings for the vertically challenged?

Our Cali doesn't have the fixed awning and we prefer it that way. We do have a fabric awning that slides in to the rail on either side. When we have the driveway awning up we do sometimes use the awning on the passenger side.
