Hi I encountered this many times when searching for my first vehicle. Apparently it should be covered by VW as a defect, out of warranty period I THINK!

I'm thinking I could probably live with this after 10 years as long as no other issues such as leaks, saw bare metal on 2004 Cali front roof and thought it looked quite 'rustic' .. sorry...

If that was mine I would get a good bodyshop to treat and repaint in same or black. Even if it has to be repeated in years to come. There just seem to be too many horror stories of poor workmanship and failed VW repairs.

Yep - far too late. But you can swap it for a brand-new fully loaded T6 Ocean...
