I'm also avoiding driving into bath, but it is a pain if I want to go south as I live north.

As an update. I have now managed to get a certificate of conformity from VW that shows that my vehicle is M1. DVLA should now update the V5 to show M1 as getting the certificate from VW was what they told me I had to do if I wanted V5 changed. This should give me an exemption.

Getting the exemption is pretty straightforward.
I have now had verbal confirmation that my PCN has been cancelled & the glitch that caused it to be issued in the first place has been fixed. Expecting written confirmation in a few days.

Good to hear. I'm waiting to get my updated V5 from DVLA, which could take 10 weeks! Then I can apply for the exemption. Long process.
