Going to try the top bunk for the first time. Once the bed is made up, fitted sheet and duvet, I assume it is ok to lower the roof to travel? I’ll bring the pillows down first.

I’d remove the duvet too

Definitely bring everything down except mattress /sheet. There is no room for bedding up there with roof down.

Yes, it’s a bit of a hassle to take down or put up. But much much less hassle than the van in a dealer for a week or two having the roof fixed- at significant cost…
