As of 9 April this year, no further bellows replacements from version 04S onward are being covered by VW warranty.
From speaking with the dealer, the performance of the 04S, 05S and 06S is the same.
I would assume of you have the previous single skinned version, it may still be covered
How do I know which version of bellows I have? My van is a May 23 playe. Not sure of this has been posted, but a quick search yielded no posts.

It's on a label that's tucked inside the space occupied by the vertical slats. Unfortunately very hard to see the tag when the poptop is installed. How do you know what serial your bellows are please

A May 22 Cali will have the original single skin bellows. The double skin bellows were introduced at the end of 22. The double skin has an inner layer that blocks light. And, generally, leaks in the lower 0xS numbers . There is a good update from a long time Belgium member who got the low down on the design issues at a recent dealer meet. I’ll update with his post below.Hello, forgive my ignorance, but what do O4S etc refer to? Is it California model or bellow model? What OxS version would a coast delivered new in May 22 be/have?
Thanks.
It sounds like a moot point if VW are refusing to change bellows now anyway?Does the Aquatex cause the bellows to change in appearance (e.g.discolour, etc) or touch (e.g. tacky or feel of the fabric)?
I ask because of concerns previously expressed in "threads " of VW perhaps not warranting faulty bellows which may have had Aquaseal applied.....how would VW know?
It was Breeze VW. They have a letter from VW notifying they will not cover replacement bellies costs. Thanks for the update on this important issue.
May I ask:
1. Which dealership gave you this information?
2. Has it been confirmed to be correct by VW customer service?

I would say 04SWhat bellows version would a 2023 Ocean usually be fitted with from factory?
I believe they are 03S based on more researchI would say 04S

Found this sticky label. Can’t find anything else that tells me what version of bellies on my 2019 cali
It's in an inconvenient location inside the stitched slat channel. You can only see it with ease when the bellows are unmounted from the roof.Found this sticky label. Can’t find anything else that tells me what version of bellies on my 2019 cali
Ahh yes not going to take the bellows off to find it. I haven’t had any problems but if weather looks bad I put the cover on (Like a fly sheet) or don’t pop and sleep downstairs lolIt's in an inconvenient location inside the stitched slat channel. Whats the build date? Thats usually a good indicator of which version you have.Ahh yes not going to take the bellows off to find it. I haven’t had any problems but if weather looks bad I put the cover on (Like a fly sheet) or don’t pop and sleep downstairs lol
The problem bellows were only on the 6.1 when they changed to the double skin version around 2022/23.2019. November I think
Then you would have the single skinned 02S predecessor to the blighted double skinned (darker outer, lighter inner surface) 03S/04S/05S2019. November I think
