Bertie with black updates.

Finally got round to making some aesthetic improvements (in my eyes lol) to Bertie Berghaus.
Chin splitter as wanted something different to the sportline and think it sits well with the new Black side bars.
Blackout stickers for B pillar of the forum shop.
Wind deflectors on drivers/passenger door
Black bike rack soon to be added just need a couple more bolts (what a job that was!!!) thanks to the forum members help on here with that.
Will post a rear piccy when the rack is done.

Its a Maxton Design one, fairly ok to fit, bit faffy on your own, I used the levelling ramps to get the front up. Fit is spot on though. Just drilled and bolted it with fixings supplied and did not use the adhesive.

Looks very tidy. My next purchases are going to be sidebars and front splitter. Really like the look of the Maxton Design. Watch this space...

Looks stunning pasper2,

We take delivery of our Cali in 2 weeks and one of the options I wanted was the black bike rack but we've settled for a silver as black wasn't offered as an option.

Did you purchase your black rack or have you had it coated??

Thanks TheWilsons, it was painstakingly dismantled painted and put back together, so pleased with the result but did wonder halfway through if it was worth the effort. You cannot order a black but sure you could do it with a later version presuming its a T6 you are getting.

Thanks for the reply pasper2, yes it's a T6 and I'm very tempted to do the same with our bike rack. I will have to suck it and see after next Thursday

Hi loving your black bike rack.
I'm planning to do the same with ours once our van arrives, we have the option of the T5 style (which is much sleeker looking) or the new T6 version but it's really bulky.
Did you need to replace any parts on the rack whilst carrying out the work ?

Wow, looks great I've ordered darker (dealer fit) privacy glass on my Cali, still waiting for a confirmed build date by the way... and I was also considering the black B pillar stickers, which look great on your van, so thats that decision made!

Our one will be Acapulco blue,so not as vibrant as yours but should look good with the added 'black' bits.

Also, I really like the dark wind deflectors? Would you mind if I asked where you got those from please?

Well sad to say after much deliberation Bertie will be going on sale at the end of July early after our last trip in him. A change of circumstances means we no longer really need him. It was always a dream of mine to own a proper California after having many holidays with my late Father in the 8 different ones he owned consecutively for about 25 years, if only i had that splitty now LOL

Hi Pasper2 is your spoiler the textured or gloss finish, looking on the Maxton web site there are three options and also with coloured front edge stripe, your spoiler does look good.
