big problem with the ceiling

hi all! has anybody ever had an issue like this? the tissue of the ceiling is detaching from the rigid part. there is no mold or humidity and the van is always been stored in a closed garage. it's a 2007 t5 cali. i fear i must change the whole part... any suggestion? thx in advance

The only time I saw this was a vehicle in Cyprus, The extreme heat had caused the glue to melt, which resulted in the headlining sagging.

How hot does it get in your garage?
 
it's rather cold. it's underground.
it could still be the glue, perhaps it's just failed with age. Your first picture looks like the headlining has completely come away from the vehicle around the sunvisor. Have you tried peeling it back to see what's behind it?
 
no... i just don't want to make it worst...
i think i will ask a craftman if it can be done with new tissue. probably it'll cost less than brand new spare from vw
 
I think the foam substrate has degraded. Just an age and oxidation issue unfortunately. Best solution is to replace with a new part if still available.
