No, none of us are Pro Cycling either :laugh2

Perfect ... Just guys loving our bikes and liking a good ride :) lol

Conclusion?

Cali owners are generally into cycling!!

Not into cycles that much myself (other than to ride around at a gentlemanly pace between pubs) but I did get to work on Jason Queally's land speed bicycle a few years ago. It was quite a scary thing - the steering being back to front for a start! I don't think it was very successful and eventually, most of the parts for building it ended up in a skip!

Keeping fingers crossed for decent weather forecast on this one. Hopefully mudguards won’t be needed and I will be on the R3 rather than the winter bike. At the moment I’m the only one of my regular riding group entered but hoping to persuade a couple of others. Will keep an eye out for Cali’s in the carpark. (mine is a Night Blue Beach if you spot it).

My current bikes

Klein Q pro (summer bike) mixture of 10s campag record, ultegra brakes & crank and unfortunately a seat tube repair which i hate.

Cotic 'X' (home built into a flat bar winter bike) xtr, hope, thomson, mudguards of course ;)
+ bits from old mtb's.

Rocky Mountain Slayer SXC70 xtr, hope, fox, thomson, mavic tubeless rims.

You got a nice trio of beauty's there yanathem ..... :thumb :thumb :thumb

what year is your Klein ..???
I love my Klein ,as they did great colours back then and now they look retro :cool

+ Choplee
The klein is a 2005 year model so for the purists probably not a true klein because it was made in the trek factory. I always wanted a klein so i'm not to fussed about that and i still like it, a very rare bike as all kleins are and still gets a lot of comments. Surprisingly a lot of people have never heard off or seen klein bikes when it was gary klein who pioneered the manufacturing of bike frames using oversize aluminium tubing. This Q pro looks a bit more modern than the older quantum's, maybe less of a harsher ride with the carbon forks and rear stays.
I bought it new as a frame and fork and built it up to now what it is today.
I still use it and have no plans off getting rid of it, just need someone to sort out a respray on the seat tube.
And yeah the colours and the designs they done over the years are stunning, they make most modern bikes look dull. Mine is called electric lime and changes from green to gold in the light, how cool is that.
Looking at your quantum it looks like its a two colour paint as well? Very nice :thumb
Is yours a true klein then made in chehalis, washington?

If anyone is looking for a new cycle, my friend (and fellow California owner!) Mark has extended their range - http://worxbikes.com/

Mine does have the green going into purple and looking a blue as well in the different lights .. I'll try and get some more photos up to look at of her ....
You Klein colour is sweet as well I also loved the colours that adventurous Klein used back then and still look great if not better today :) .....
I'm the same as you I get loads of people look at my bike at sportives over bikes next to mine worth 5 times as much ,so it still gives me smile.. The ride is quite harsh I've been told ,but don't know any better inly having Ali frames and this main road bike for 16 yrs ....
Klein was brought by trek your right and I think mine was just on the switchover ,so not sure if its a pedigree or not ,but as you said I'm not worried ...:)

Ps... I do like your other rides ...:)
I'm looking at sks blades for my Klein for winter are they any good ???? Also needing tyres that will fit :-(

Two 3BRs (Brompton folders) ridden everywhere.
None of that tailgate bike rack nonsense.
:cool
