I just bought some winter tyres and rims as a complete set, a garage kindly changed them over for me for nothing, but after putting the summer sheers in the passenger area they closed the automatic door with much enthusiasm I suspect.
On returning home we found the automatic door no longer opens or closes. Operating the handle make a very worrying noise inside the rear panel and there is a cable hanging out of the guide slot for the door bracket on the exterior of the van.
I know they had no intention to damage the vehicle and we're probably used to normal unpowered cargo doors which need a good pull, but this seems like a pretty poor piece of design to me.
Has anyone else had this happen? Is it a garage job to fix? (They were tyre specialists so couldn't really do anything other than apologise when I took it back)
Apology accepted, but it's looking like the most expensive wheel swap I've done - it was supposed to save time over me with a wheel brace...
Thanks
Stephen
