Looking to purchase a used T5 Beach.

I've imported from Germany before and realise there is more choice there but I'm so close to the Eurotunnel I'd rather drive over and look that way.

Is there anyone on here in Belgium or the Netherlands (or indeed in the UK) who can recommend reliable dealers over there who may have stock?

Thanks guys.

The NL dealer I tried earlier but very little stock.

Peter - the Belgium one is cars only? Not Cali's?

Peter

Thanks Peter and bvdobb, will try those.

I am spending the night in front of CCN , just arrived at Amersfoort!
Cali in for a check up and oil change first thing in the morning , while spending the time during the check up i 'l be sitting in the showroom . Do you want me to check out some 2nd handers:D
I always think they are overpriced , thats why i went for a new T5 some years ago

Sorry, missed this post! Anything interesting there?

They had indeed very low stock on used T5's, salesman said the T5 sells quick as the wait on 6-ers is 8 months
Even the owner puts his one year old T6 in between the 2nd hands to fill in the gap.
if thatone sells he is left without his own Cali....
thats the one i test drove in september , a 4motion manual Ocean

That backs up what I found in my weekend searches.

Absolutely worst time to be buying of course and there is barely anything in Germany even available.

scharphofcampers.nl: have 20 T5 in stock
poptop.nl: have 3 T5 and several T4 in stock, and several others (Mercedes)
westfalia-campers.nl: have 5 T5 and several other in stock (Mercedes)
Having said that: yes, autumn is a better time to buy second hand campers than spring, usually.

Perhaps I should have added "at a reasonable price"...

Yes, well, that is a bit of an issue in NL. We have an added tax on cars of 20%, making any car here more expensive than anywhere else in Europe. But you can reclaim that tax when you export the vehicle (don't know all the exact conditions), meaning you would be at 100/120 of the advertised price.

And then again: in general Cali's don't come at a reasonable price, ever. :(

Have a look here:

"Van hoe" in Gent (B) is a California specialist and a main dealer for California in Belgium. Has always California in stock with low mileage at competitive prices.
Hello Erwin
yes indeed , but all the vans are "ex rental"..so at least 10 family's or groups have been
there before you.....
I went there last Januari and they were spotless , but endend up buying a new T6
coast with all the extra's I really needed at only 2800 euro's more then a 2014 ; 7000 mileT5 SE
that's because on the second hand one's he did not want to give me any discount
And I got plenty discount on a new one(mind you at onother dealer....;-)
cheers
Peter
ps My dealer told me he orderd 50...yes 50 californi's for 2016.........

Hi Peter,
I bought mine at VAN HOE (obtained there the best discount on a new T6). Ordered end of December 2015, my cali was finally delivered end of May 2016 (see picture). Because delivery was announced before end of April I prepared a journey into France in the beginning of May. To compensate the extra delay in delivery, VAN HOE offered me a brand new T6 Ocean DSG 4 Motion for this 5-day trip for free. No complaints here.:embarrased

Hello Erwin
nice car...congrats
orderd mine end of januari , delivery should be within2 weeks .
Delivery status is "car is finished" and on "internal transport"
Shore VAN HOE will be a great dealer (lots of experience)
But I visited him because I thaught a new one was out of reach for me..
and he had plenty off choise on second hand ones.(I think the only dealer in Flanders).
But with the "coast " version a new one was within my reach , so I decided to shop a little closer to home as I live on the coast ; and ended up buying one just 5minutes from home (Phlips in Bredene)
cheers
Peter

A second hand 6 months old Cali T5 was also my first option (tried one out). But the T6 is worth waiting for. More beautiful, and more refined car and drive. We'll keep it for a long time, so better start with the most recent model.
About the delivery of yours: that very good news, Peter. You will have it right on time for the holidays! Enjoy and post a picture. Greetings, Erwin.
