We had our first cold night away in the van this weekend. We were about 50 miles north of Inverness. The effectiveness of the heater was a revelation. Staying away in the cold won't be a problem, well apart from the reluctance to get up in the morning because it is so comfy inside. The more we use the van the more impressive it gets.

We were in Keswick last weekend and used the heater for the first time. It was indeed brilliant, but almost better was the insulation in the van which meant we only used the heating for half an hour before we got up as a treat (and while we were in the shower block to demist a bit). We didn't need it overnight.

There is no insulation in the California, unlike most conversions.
