We took one of our dogs away for the first time last weekend and was totally amazed how well behaved she was, she settled down between the drivers and passengers seats on her cushion and slept while I drove, at night she slept either on her cushion or in the passenger footwell while we slept on the down stairs bed, the only draw back at all was she snores soooooo loud lol

We let our Irish terrier sleep between the seats as a pup - she was lovely and quiet - then we discovered she was chewing the hand brake!

Maybe she wasn't to happy with the site you where staying at that time and was giving hints to leave...
Handbreak down and off we go she was thinking ...very clever dog

and today at the ripe age of 5 1/2 months

This is my first Dog and he has never been camping yet so any first time Dog camping advice would be appreciated especially for our european trip later this year.
He is super friendly without an ounce of aggression and still puppy mad. Been taking him doggy training for the last ten weeks and other then his tendency to pull on the lead (slowly improving) he is a superb family pet, my kids adore him.

Another black lab puppy - first picture at two and a half months; the second a few days ago at four months.
Our first ever dog - Taudu (pronounced Tidy!) - will be accompanying us in May to Cornwall and North Wales, and in July to Luxembourg, Germany, France and Spain.
We love him - wish us luck!

We are part of the black lab gang as well. Ours had a big head and massive paws as a puppy - so we assumed he would be massive, he is now 4 and has stopped growing at a sensible size. As stated earlier fits happily in the passenger footwear overnight

They both loved being upstairs and slept well up there, but then decided that the descent over the mattress-cliff edge was the most terrifying event of their lives and one not to be repeated. Needless to say we slept downstairs after that I did achieve one night with me upstairs and the girls downstairs on the two front seats (they are velcro dogs so had to get as close as possible) but I think they would rather I was down the bottom with them, so it looks like my plan to mostly sleep up the top may have to change!
