Cali for £13k

If the advert was pinched from this forum then he is possibly reading this thread also??

So I also expressed interest and got the same reply as above so I wrote this....

"What time should I head over for the viewing this weekend?

One thing though, as I am travelling quite a distance I will need some funds to view, this may seem unusual, however, I am almost certain to purchase the vehicle and so will reimburse in full. I ask that you pay £100 through PayPal to me to come and view the vehicle.

Many thanks"

To which the reply was this...

"LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL"

Kind of funny really, however, still annoyed ebay haven't removed the ad even after so many people have reported it :(

Brilliant!

I've managed to get the price down to £12.5k now. Pondering the next move

It’s unbelievable how many ads are on eBay like this. I’ve also reported one in the past and they didn’t remove it. There are lots of ads like this for the Land Rover Defender when I was looking. I’m sure there are lots more for other cars. For the scammers, just to get an amount of money from one person makes their efforts worth while. I’m guessing it’s a numbers game for them. I also think they are UK based, when I was reading about the scams previously, one guy traced the scammers back to Manchester.

Hi KP

Your doing well on the price negotiation !

Has an Address to view been provided?

Perfectly natural question to ask, I suspect the story will end when you request that info

Sadly, KP I don’t think you will get any detail from him, his eBay account is private and he’s not likely to give you his bank account details to pay the money into ?

So the sting is revealed, lets hope no one pays them anything for it, sounds silly, and easy to say you'd have to be stupid to do such a thing, but sometimes people do such things to get what they think is a bargain :( tme to call eBay again I think....

I’m shocked I just went onto the DVLA website to register the vehicle as being sold to a trader,
I entered the registration number and the V5c number provided on the image, and guess what ?

“Unable to find a vehicle record “

What a surprise

I dare you to tell him that you’ve been in contact with DVLA and the V5c does not match the Reg haha

The listing has been taken down for the time being, if you see it again, report it

Very cheap SE appeared in our ads now, £18k. Bargain price but not many details.
