Cali T6.1 CarPlay inhibiting 3G Connection

HI Folks,

Hopefully some tech guru has the solution to this.

We have a T6.1 Ocean 2024, the VW internal hotspot links fine to phones to allow carplay but...whenever we do that it seem to inhibit the use of any of the phones' 3/4G and so all the apps are not working. Google maps, apple maps, spotify etc all have no connection so can't be used. Which kind of defeats the object of using carplay.

I've looked for anything obvious in the connections but can't see anything. I have a BMW that has carplay and using the same phones/phone setting both myself and Mrs N's phones link tp carplay and still allow all the apps to function using 3/4G.

All suggestions for getting the system to work are very welcome!

Welcome to the wonderful world of VW software!!
Biggest bugbear ever and there are loads of threads on it but I don't think anyone has found the ideal "do all" solution.
You should be able to just use bluetooth.
Disconnect yours cars WIFI from your WIFI settings on the phone.

That said, its known to be a bit laggy when using maps.
A lot of people just use a cable as its the simplest, cleanest most foolproof workaround.

Just use the search on Carplay and you'll be glued to your screen for the weekend.
